After my mission I continued to work & play hard. I had back surgery the summer of 1992, met my husband that Thanksgiving, he proposed just before Christmas and we married Feb. 1993 in the Manti, Utah Temple. We have two daughters, non-identical twins, 10 years old. We moved to Texas following a more lucrative career, and now reside in Austin....the best place in Texas! We have 2 dogs, a Dane mix, and a chihuahua, and 2 cats, both tabbies, a long-hair and a short-hair, and a tank full of fish. Although my husband no longer fly fishes and I no longer hike mountains, we manage to stay busy with work, Girl Scouts, golf, and various volunteer opportunities as well as the girls' activities. We finally went to a Willie Nelson concert, a must if you're in Austin. Austin is a cultural arts mecca, with a beat of it's own. The music/film scene is up close and personal. Family friendly activities abound as well as pet friendly parks. River/Lakes provide boating, skulling, kayaking, waterskiing, etc. Trails to walk and mountain bike are covered with lush foliage, and although it's the capital of Texas, Austin is really small town friendly. We look forward to returning to mountains one day, if the Lord provides, but for now, we're home. Looking back, my mission in Ohio and W. Va. prepared me for our life in Texas. Sister Frost and I still keep in touch....though not often enough. She's finally decided to slow down a bit, too! If you're ever this way, stop on by and say "Hi, y'all"! |
