I am currently the owner of a tire store with my brothers in Roseville CA. After graduating from the Y with a BS to teach auto shop I went and taught for 3 years in my old high school district. I had hoped to get into coaching but decided that having my wife stay home to raise our family was our higher priority I took a part time job for a while. After 3 years I needed to either go back to school to get my CA credential (CA doesn’t accept Utah credentials). At that time my family was just opening a second Thomasville Furniture store in Santa Clarita so I quit teaching and went to work for them. Eventually moving to Bakersfield to manage our distribution center. We were there from 2000 to 2004 when I once again followed my family to Roseville in northern CA. We had opened a store here in 2002 and things were going crazy good. Last summer my brothers and I opened a tire shop here. It’s Redline Tire Co (redlinetireco.com).
We bought a house in Lincoln, a few miles north of Roseville, and we have been in 3 wards without ever moving, they keep re-drawing the boundaries and splitting wards. The last time we split I was called into my wards Bishopric, as 2nd counselor, can you believe that? I had never even been in an EQ Presidency talk about over your head! But it’s been a great experience. Now I’m the 1st counselor.
Katheryn and I have 3 kids: Robert 13 who is in 7th grade and is getting really tall for his age (he is literally a head taller than all the other Deacons); Jessica is 11 and in 6th grade she’s running cross country; our youngest is Caleb he is 5 and just started Kindergarten in August and loves it. |
