Elder Peterson 27 Apr 2001
I had been in Argentina about 6 months when I was given the greatest opportunity, or so I thought, to train someone. That someone ended up being MY teacher. Brian Petersen, from Burley, ID came into my life when the LORD knew I needed him. His first night we had a second discussion planned. I could feel the spirit of the MTC still with him. We went to our "cita" and I decided to give Elder Petersen the chance to commit the family to baptism. He read from the "charla" but relied on the spirit to commit the family. After he had done so, the father leaned over to me and asked, not quite understanding what he had heard, if we wanted them to get baptised. I told him "Si" and he said "Por Supuesto". I learned an invaluable lesson that night on relying on the Spirit. Elder Petersen went on to become a far greater missionary than me. He was my idol! "Be thou humble...and the Lord thy God shall lead thee...." Thank you Elder Petersen!!!!
