After graduating from Carbon College and then Brigham Young University, President Mangum taught in Emery County for five years. He later taught English and American History in the Alpine School District for eight years. Afterwards, he entered into private business and went in to serve as Mayor of Orem, Utah for ten years. He has served as a Bishop, councelor in the Stake Presidency, Stake President, and as a councilor in the Presidency of the Missionary Training Center. Sister Mangum has always been first a wife, mother and helpmate to her busy husband. She has also held several positions in the Primary as well as serving as MIA President, Relief Society President and in numerous other callings as a teacher and councellor. The Mangums are the parents of 9 children and 39+ grandchildren.
