Comments:
I married the missionary I wrote to for 2 years! We had put in our papers at the same time, and our 2 year age difference made it possible to serve concurrently. We both graduated from BYU, and then John went to law school at U of Baltimore. We live in the same ward as his parents (terrific g-parents!) with our 6 kids: Emmalyn leaves for BYU Fall 2008. Stewart is a sophmore at the Science & Math Academy. Maxwell sings with the MD State Boychoir and is going to China to sing at Olympics. Suzanna plays the harp. Samuel plays the trumpet. Roxie Jane has 18 months until she is baptized! I am president of the Flying Geese Quilt Guild, paint wall murals professionally, and currently the music leader in Primary (Sister Walker was the first person to ever compliment me singing). John teaches Gospel Principles and is head of scout committee. Two of our kids are taking French at school, and I can help them with homework, but I wish I had followed through with the promise Pres. Walker made us: if we read the BofM everyday in French, we would never lose our mission fluency. Serving a mission seems like a lifetime ago. I remember when it got hard as a sister, we would joke that it could be worse--we could be pregnant! Ahhh-ha! Motherhood is harder than being a missionary! But worth it. In 3 years our oldest son will be ready to put in his papers and Emma would be 21, maybe she will go, too? Sobering thoughts. The Church is TRUE!
