It was with great sadness to hear of Richard's passing. He was a year older than me growing up in Richfield but I had known him since 6th grade. We were on the football team together and he was a great example to look up to in life. My brother was his age and they both served in Recife at the same time. He was the kindest friend and never spoke ill of anyone. His loss is very sad but his memory will live on forever.
