After leaving San Jose, I went to BYU, where I got a degree in economics and married my beautiful wife Lisa. We both felt inspired to return to Virginia although neither of us particularly wanted to , especially not the California Girl.
We have been married for 22 years and have 4 children. Lisa is a talented musician and has served in almost every musical calling in the Church, in the Primary and as a seminary teacher twice. I have been the ward mission leader, in the Young Men's presidency, Elders Quorum president, ward clerk, seminary teacher twice and am currently a member of the stake high council.
Lisa ran a children's choir for several years, taught in the public schools and has now gone back to private lessons. I have been active in politics, was elected to two terms on the school board and am a member of the local Optimist Club and a past master of the masonic lodge. I have worked for the local water and sewer utility in finance for 20 years.
I value my testimony of the gospel and membership in the Church more than all of the above and am grateful to have had the honor of serving in the California San Jose Mission. |
