I joined the church in November 1979. I first heard about the church from an investigator around the winter or spring of 1979. I would like to find the missionaries who were teaching that him. His name was Skipper Patton, he lived in West San Jose. I believe his sister Kara (Cara) was also taking the lessons and may have joined. From that one conversation with Skipper, my brother and I joined. We then hared the gospel with our best friend, who also joined. We all went on missions and got married in the temple. Our kids have gone on missions. We all have done genealogy work. I counted up a few years ago the number of souls affected by the conversation I had with Skipper, who said he just taking the missionary lessons, and I counted three thousand. We never know about the seeds we plant and the ripples they have. I don't think Skipper joined the church. I would really like to meet the missionaries who taught him. Elder Korkorian and Elder Perry were the missionaries who ended up teaching my brother and me. |
