President James A. Kenning

James Alexander Kenning, loving husband, father, brother and son passed away peacefully in Logan Utah on the 15th of September 2011. He was born December 15th 1919. He is survived by his children Katherine Kenning, Kelly Jacobson (David), Mary Cox (Geoff) , Dan Kenning (Molly) and daughter in law Debbie. He has 30 grandchildren and. 20 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sons Joseph Farr, James (Tucky) Squires and Mark Anderson Kenning. James was raised in Salt Lake City and attended East High school and the University of Utah. He served a mission to Toronto Canada as a young man. He attended dental school in Louisville, Kentucky where he met the love of his life a young missionary named Martha Lucille Anderson. Upon completion of her mission, James and Martha wed in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They became the parents of seven children. James served in the armed forces during WWII and the Korean War, as a dentist. James had a dental practice in California for several years and later practiced as an Endodontist in Salt Lake City. James held many callings in the church. He was a Bishop, Stake President Councilor and later served as a Mission President in the Halifax Nova Scotia Mission 1979-1982. His testimony was faithful until the end. James had the special gift of loving all those he came in contact with. He was always kind and giving. Very few in this world could match his integrity. He will be missed. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Russon Bountiful Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, where a viewing will be held Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment-Centerville City Cemetery.
