Elder 27 Nov 2006
While serving in Tomé we received a mobile exposición from the misión home on the LIT bus. The exposición was designed to show the public some aspects of the church and to generate referrals. There were detailed instructions as to how to set up and run the display. We finished the assembly and waited for the people to flood in. We waited for a very long time. No one came in. While we were waiting and somewhat disappointed I looked through the instructions again. I noticed that we had failed to have a dedicatory prayer to open the exposition. We all gathered behind the panels and knelt in prayer. We asked for forgiveness for not having a prayer sooner and asked the Lord for his help in attracting investigators. When we came back around in front of the panels we found several people looking over the display. We got busy as guides. From that moment on we were quite busy until the expo closed. We had so many referrals that we filled up our little appointment books with charlas day and night. I was a missionary’s dream!
