| Bruce Johnson's story of the drought in Chile brought back memories. I remember that drought and was at a different meeting in Santiago where Elder Hinckley, on that same trip, dedicated a new chapel. In that dedicatory prayer, he also prayed for rain. I attended a later district conference in Santiago that was held on his next visit to Chile. He started speaking about the power of prayer and mentioned that he had led us in prayer for rain and how those prayers were answered. The entire congregation erupted in laughter because not only were the prayers for rain answered, but many parts of Chile were flooded. They all knew those prayers had been answered! In buckets! |
