Well, I've just had a visit from the Bellistons, who were over in the UK for a week or two and managed to make a day trip to Wales. It's been 8 years since we left Brisbane, so it was wonderful to see them again.
I took them down a coal mine and luckily President Belliston was concussion-free when we resurfaced a couple of hours later, despite numerous bumps to the head (those shafts are pretty low). We then found the house where Sister B's Great-Grandfather was born and lived until his parents threw him out for joining the church as a young man (he hopped aboard the Buena Vista with many other pioneers and headed west). They were also able to witness a Welsh Male Voice Choir rehearsal (my Dad's a member/first tenor) which ended a [stereo]typical day in Wales.
Serving in the office had its benefits, after all, since I pretty much knew everybody who they reminisced about, and that was a great deal of you. They really do care about you all and, for those who keep in touch, they were able to let me know how you're all doing - especially those of us "older" newlyweds (you know who you are).
I'm still doing well, serving in young mens and primary, and enjoying life in general. Maybe Kate and I will make it to a reunion sometime soon (I hear this year's was well attended). In the meantime, may God bless you every day, and don't forget to... Use Your Noodle! (Sister B dropped that in a couple of times - ah, memories). |
