I didn't serve long because I had unexpected surgery in Cali and church headquarters notified Pres. Mickelsen to send me home to Hawaii on a medical leave. My first companion was Brooke Barham from SLC, UT; she was on her way home. And the only other companion I had was Marta Lucia Botia from Bogota and who, I believe, is married now. I've lost touch with everyone else. I live in Hawaii now, employed at BYU-Hawaii. I've had the privilege of hosting Pres. Mickelsen while he was here for a Stake Conference; it was like Alma and the sons of Mosiah, finding each other again, still strong and firm in the gospel. Of course, he looked just the same as the mission field! Aloha to all those I served with and my prayers to the leaders and missionaries that continue to labor to spread the gospel there in Colombia! |
