I have implemented a new design for the mission website. It is not fully complete and new changes are yet forthcoming, but the bulk of the work is done (although I haven't got the menu working right in Netscape yet). Let me know if you have any comments or suggestions (especially suggestions).

Hello there. I have a friend in Plzen, some of you may know her, Misa Vankova, who needs some help. She has been accepted to BYU-Idaho, but doesn't have the money. The bank won't give her a loan because they said she won't be in the country to pay it back. If anybody knows of a grant program or a loan program that can help Misa, she would be so grateful. If you want more information or can help, feel free to contact me at jbonella@jcpenney.com or contact Misa at Michaela.Vankova@ing.cz. Diky a mejte se hezky.

Sister Winder suggested to me that it would be very easy to set up a reunion in Nauvoo for anyone interested. It would be best next Spring/Summer, since this will be their last year at the temple. Since I'm in the Nauvoo Stake, I am willing to act as a go-between if there is enough interest, so let me know what you all think.

Joseph Cory Hrncirik was born on February 20, 2004 at 23:32 in the Krc Hospital in Prague, Czech Republic. Both Joseph and his mother are doing very well.
Having a baby in the Czech Republic was an interesting experience. All around it was a good experience, and many things were better than our first birth experience with our daughter in Orem, Utah, USA. It is sure a lot cheaper here!!!
You can find some pictures of our Pepicek at www.hrncirikhome.com.
Ahoj,
Hrdy Hrncirik

Im just saw another great Czech film I want to recommend to everyone. It is called Autumn Spring (Babi Leto). It stars Franta's mother from Kolya, as well as the cemetary caretaker from that same film (he was also the star of another recent czech film, Dark Blue World).
It's about an old man who lives like he is a teenager, though he is 80 and nearly at death's door. It's entertaining, and nostalgic. He lives with his wife in a typical panelak, with the shower doored, grafitti-stained elevators we are all endeared to.
I hope you all have a chance to se it.
Also, I rented from the library some old, new-wave czech films from the '60's. You might as well pass on those, they're so abstract. That is, unless you liked that abstract, stop-go animation version of Alice in Wonderland produced by a Czech. To me, it was unbearable.

Hey y'all! I'm currently trying to figure out a new layout for this site. As part of this process, I've turned off the "Webmasters announcements" section on the front page. I'll be posting anything that needs to be said on the message board for a while.
Also as part of the process, I've been going through all the alumni records and trying to delete duplicates and such. I've also been editing profiles who didn't have a Mission President selected and assigning them according to the years served. If you see a profile that should have a certain president assigned and I don't have it there, please let me know. Assigning these profiles Presidents enables you to select them as companions. So, check the list of available companions in your profile. You might have someone there that you didn't before.
One last thing. If you have any HTML (or greater) experience and are interested in helping with the upkeep of the site, please let me know. Its not that I'm having trouble maintaining the site. It's that I'm always looking for fresh ideas.
Anyway...comments or questions are always welcome.

For those that haven't heard...a new President has been called to the Czech Prague Mission. G. Fred Yost and his wife Susan will replace the Chidesters this year. He's a CPA from Idaho. Hopefully they will be logging on to the site and filling us in with more information. We'll see...

I've collected pictures of a bunch of Coat of
Arms from various cities from both Slovakia and the Czech Republic. I think I've covered most of the cities that missionaries served in. I like to have them to put with the different photos from my mission. I just thought I would let everyone know about them in case someone was looking for a certain one. I'll give the address below. It was one of my favorite contacting questions on my mission: "Neviete kde mozem si kupit odznak Martina?" I must have asked that question hundreds of times. Anyway, here's the link. If there is one you are looking for that's not on the page, let me know and I'll try and find it. My email is darrellphippen@earthlink.net.
Thanks Steve, for keeping this site going!
