I just returned from Santo Domingo end of April 99. I saw the temple the week I left and talked to Bro. Fernandez (Assistant to Architect). He says the temple WILL be finished before April conference 2000 (probable dedication - mid to late March). The granite exterior is almost complete - only lacking east face. Interior work is well under way and the oxen and Moroni statue arrived to the island a few weeks ago. They've already hired the Temple Engineer (Pres. Lee from San Geronimo Stake) and should be choosing the recorder soon. Most likely Pres. Hinckley will dedicate the temple, but who knows as there will be close to 30 dedications between January and April Conference.
