Don't send money through pouch. 25 Feb 2007
I received this email from one of our missionaries.

""The reason is because a few weeks ago a couple of large shipments filled with letters and packages which were being sent through Pouch Mail were robbed and, upon finding money being transfered through Pouch Mail, violated international policies. While I'm sure nobody intentionally placed a ten dollar bill in someone's envelope to start a controversy, Presidente Ridd read aloud a letter he received directly from the Church which stated that whenever something like this happens, the Church as a whole gets blamed and its relationship with other countries and goverments becomes worse. Therefore, as a precaution, the Church announced that all mail being sent through pouch will be opened, checked for currency, and then resealed before being sent to their associated missions. The Church promises that if it finds money it will send it directly back to the sender in full. As for us, we've been asked to send the message out asking not to send any form of money through pouch mail, so sorry if that presents a disappointment."
