I have been married for almost 6 years now, got 2 kids, 3 & 4, yes i'm a beginner(I'm 38 years old with 2 kids under 5) My husband is the excec sec (is that what they call it?you know the Bishop's Gopher) I go to a Tongan Ward here in Sac,I don't know the English equivalent of his calling.
I'm the 2nd Counselor in the Primary.
My original Mish was supposed to be The Phillipines-San Pablo. I waited for my visa while serving in the Fort Laud Mish, and then suddenly a year and a half flew by, and my mish was over. I used to love to torment other visa waiters, cos there were quite a few on our mish, I would say,"I'm a visa waiter, I've been waiting for a year now( or how ever long at the time), and then watch their eyes get big with surprise....hehehe. I 'm so weird.
I did get closure though on my regarding my original calling to the Phillipines. There was a fireside, of a Mission President and his family, returning home, and they had slide show of the places and people that they served, as it went on, I figured out they served in the Phillipines, as they talked on I figured out that they served in The San Pablo Mission, Phillipines, My former calling and then they started talking about how many missionaries that were in their mission, and mentioned one sister missionary that didn't make it out because her visa didn't go through, they didn't have her name right with them, but they know that she was from right here in sacramento. They were talking about me. In tears i went up and introduced myself, that i was that Sister Missionary that waited for my visa, my whole mission long. (paybacke for teasing the visa waiters, i'm sure)They asked me how I did on my mission in Fort Lauderdale and did I love the people there and did I work hard there, I was able to answer yes to both. and let them know that" I bloomed wherever the Lord planted me for that year and a half". I was able to give my former Mission President a report. Pretty Cool!
