Comments: After serving for 28 years as a JAG officer, I retired from the Air Force in 1999 and accepted a call to preside over the France Paris Mission. My wife, Kathryn Pond Madsen (sister of Elder Steven Pond), our youngest son, Bryan, and I relocated from the Washington DC area to the mission home in le Vésinet. Our three-year service in the France Paris Mission was the most rewarding and fulfilling assignment we have ever had. During our mission, five of our seven children lived in a home we had built in Provo just before we left for France and attended BYU. In the summer of 2002, we returned to our Provo home. I serve on the high council in our stake as advisor to the single adults and teach institute classes in Missionary Preparation and New Testament at UVSC in Orem. My wife serves as our ward relief society president. |
