Comments:
I had a memorable and wonderful mission. We were able to attend the London Temple Dedication while there. The day following the dedication by President David O. McKay we held a mission testimony meeting in London. Elder Wayne Owens and I were asked by Elder Hugh B. Brown to ride to the mission home in London where an Elders' Court was being conducted by President Henry D. Moyle. We were invited to attend the court and after many hours we witnessed eleven elders and sisters be excommunicated for apostasy. They returned to Paris with us and were sent home. It was a difficult time for the mission, the mission president and his wife, and the missionaries. I shall never forget this most humbling experience. I spent some time as the Servicemen's Coordinator for France, North Africa and Spain. I travelled the mission with Elder William Tucker. Besides President Milton C. Christensen we had President Edgar Brossard. I went to France on the SS United States and returned via Qantas Jet. What a difference. |
