Paris is not burning 13 Nov 2005
My brother-in-law is a police officer in Paris 2nd arrondissement, and he states that the civil unrest is not as bad as the media has hyped it all to be. It is mainly located in the suburbs and other cities even though they have threatened some main attractions in Paris.

No one really has to worry if they go about their business as usual and stay out of the areas that are considered unsafe and most everyone knows those areas to stay away from. They are making arrests everyday and trying to make sure that they do not show any form of excessive force. As the police isn't very well thought of in France anyway and the young people show very little respect for officers.

Paris is not burning....
