Apply to become France Paris Mission Alumni Webmaster 19 Apr 2006
The France Paris Mission Alumni Web Site is seeking a new volunteer webmaster to take over as of 6/1/2006. The position has been held by the site founder for eleven years and has been both a joy and a remarkable responsibility. Applicants need to possess patience, commitment, attention to detail, and a desire to serve their fellow mission alumni, without monetary compensation, for a span of possibly several years.

Webmaster Qualifications

* Three years membership on the web site as of 5/31/2006
* Minimum one year home from mission as of 5/31/2006
* Fluency in French and English
* Demonstrable ability to run a web site of moderate complexity (show examples)
* Languages/technologies: HTML 4.01, JavaScript 1.6, PHP 5+ (or comparable scripting language – VBScript, Cold Fusion, etc.), PostgreSQL (or comparable query language)
* Completion of the LDSMN Webmaster Acceptance Policy requiring compliance with the overall directives of LDS Mission Network and participation in SIB and lds-alumni mailing lists
* Agreement of spouse where applicable

This list represents the absolute minimum level of qualifications. Your candidacy will be rejected if you do not meet these qualifications, and preference will be given to more qualified applicants in all cases.

Interested candidates should send a cover letter and résumé. The cover letter should include (1) a statement of intent regarding the website, (2) a statement of your personal philosophy, and (3) a narrative recollection written in French (or English, if French is your native language) about any significant aspect of your mission.

I'm looking for maturity of thought and equanimity, as well as writing ability. Although this position is not paid, this service is too important and too serious to give to just anybody or to let someone grow into it.

Interested applicants should contact R. Craig Harman by 5/15/2006. This date is subject to change.
