I recently met Pat Cannon, who served in the Frankfurt mission in the late 80s/early 90s. He informed me that Martin Sauer passed away from cancer last summer. Pat had the privilege of being the missionary that finally baptized Martin.
Pat is a friend of my Brother in Law and we met on a "guy's trip" to the drag races in Las Vegas. We were surprised to find out that we both lived in the apartment on Graf Adolf strasse in Cologne. We exchanged many wonderful stories about Martin. He and his family were a wonderful source of help and support to all the missionaries in Cologne. He will be missed.
