Presidents: Orville C. Gunther (1967 - 1970) | M. Blaine Peterson (1970 - 1973) |
| Served: 1968 - 1970 |
| Language(s) spoken:Canadian, eh? |
Areas Served: Started off in Ebingen but within weeks was on a slow Zug to Lahr, where I spent the next six months learning to speak Gernadian. Next came Stuttgart-Feuerbach, followed by Munich-Neu Aubing, where it was a very long bike ride to the hamburger stand. From Munich I went to the Nuernberg American program where peanut butter and testimony go hand-in-hand. Then back to reality and quark in Stuttgart. Finally, Karlsruhe Americans prepped me for RM-hood and a life of great mission memories. |

Comments: I worked with Seminaries & Institutes for 40 years, which is a long way from a degree in Broadcasting from BYU in 1971. A masters degree from UNLV in 1980 helped, but then Jerry Tarkanian left his legacy and my degree lost some credibility. In 1978, I helped open the full-time seminary program in Las Vegas, NV, and was director of the Institute of Religion serving Texas A&M University and its football team from 1990 to 2012, when I retired. The garage is now clean and that flower bed is now weed free.
Wife and family (2 sons + 2 Texan daughters-in-law = 8 seriously Texan grandchildren; two daughters + two naturalized Texan sons-in-law = 5 additional seriously Texan grandchildren (total 13); golf game is marginal but slowly improving with age; the cat has passed on to a more fertile existence. I do get around the country from time to time on the EFY trail, so I'd love to see y'all. |
