Some of the things I did on my mission were heroic, others were unbelievably stupid. Some combination of both heroic and stupid things caused me to serve the last 5 months of my mission in Nashville, Tennessee. After my mission, I studied math at BYU, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz, and U of Oregon. I worked as a mathematician for the government for 7 years. I taught math in various community 4-year colleges. Now I'm conducting research into statistical language modeling for speech recognition products for Lernout & Hauspie. I married the former Tammy Sisk (from Worland, Wyoming) in the Salt Lake Temple in 1990. Elder Busche sealed us. It was good to see him again. We have a son, Benjamin, born in 1997. We live near Lowell, Massachusetts (about an hour north of Boston, just south of Nashua, New Hampshire). I have remained active in the Church, serving in various wards, branches, and stakes. I am currently serving as the branch president of what some people tell me is the largest ward or branch |
