I joined the Air Force to get back to Germany after my mission. My family and I have spent about 5 1/2 years total in Bavaria and we are currently located in the Nuernberg Stake, now a mix of American Servicemembers and Germans (as of Jan 2008) and have very much enjoyed being here. We will returning to Mountain Green, Utah in February 2008. For those who served in Waiblingen, our current Nuernberg Stake President is Christian Fingerle, a 7-year old in 1973, and for those who served in Ulm or Neu Ulm, Stefanie Broich, a young woman in 1974 is now Stefanie Rokow, the current mission president's wife.
Our home ward right now is Grafenwoehr, primarily with Grafenwoehr and Vilseck military members. I've been told that 2-30 years ago it used to be Weiden, which is the closest city.
I know quite a few of the Nuernberg Stake members (Ansbach, Bamberg, Coburg, Feucht, Nuernberg, Grafenwoehr, Regensburg, Wuerzburg, Schweinfurt, Erlangen, Bayreuth) and would be happy to try to answer any questions about people any mission alumni may have. |
