I lived in the DC metro area for about ten years from 1990 to 2000. I've just recently returned from a four-year teaching stint at Kuwait U. I've been back to Germany several times over the years. It's fun to watch that country change.
We took a memorable journey from Hamburg to Prague about four years ago, and we particularly enjoyed die Strecke zwischen Dresden and Prag. I recommend it for the strange natural formations and interesting small villages seen along the way. It's as interesting in its own way as the castle route along the Rhine between Heidelberg and ... what is that up there? Frankfurt? I'll have to look at a map and get back to you.
As I write this, I'm visiting a friend I went through the MTC with here in Lakeland, FL where he lives (Donovan Baltich). Donovan actually served in Hamburg as did my very first companion, Kent Harrison. |
