Not a single one of my 10 companions is listed on the alumni page. What's up with that?
Married 1988. Graduated from BYU-P 1990 (Spanish/Lat. Am. studies) and Duke Law 1993 (J.D., LL.M.). 5 kids, born in 93, 95, 97, 00, 01, 2nd is the only girl. Currently EQ Pres in Colleyville, TX. I work in the legal department of a commercial real estate company in Irving, TX (near Dallas).
Jairo Garcia from Pajapita came to stay with us for 2 months in summer 96. He still lives in Pajapita and is now the stake president of the Coatepeque Stake. He married a former sister missionary from Peten ("May"), they have 3 kids: Spencer (99), Fiona (02) and Sarah (04). We visited him for Spring Break 2005 (my first time back) and it was great. Dropping in unexpectedly on people after 20 years of no contact was spectacular in some cases and a complete flop in others, but overall so, so worth the effort. Seeing indigenas in traje tipico chatting on cell phones was freaky. Jairo was a great tour guide.
I was released as WML in Feb. 06. Working with the full-time missionaries on almost a daily basis brought back a lot of great memories. We were so blessed to have been called to serve in Guatemala. |
