Torocagua news de Amy Clifton (Jones)
Hey, I just talked to Mami Urbina in la Torocagua, so for anyone who cares, here's the latest I found out: there is now a brand new chapel in the place of the old Torocagua stake center -- bigger and better and all that stuff, complete with a full-size piano (keyboard?)! Edwin Flores is still the bishop. Nohemy Turcios is almost done with a mission to Nicaragua. Mami is 40 pounds overweight. (Ya gotta love how open they are about that stuff.) There is a branch in el Hoyo (that's old news, tho'). The ward has only elders now, no sisters. =( Asdrubal got married. Walesca Santely lives somewhere in Europe. I can't remember anything else. How's that for being chismosa??

Hola Papo Garcia, por fin conociste una computadora y te pudistes meter en la freaking red de la misión, vos que estas haciendo me dio mucha felicidad de ver que te acordaste de mi y que no estas enojado, figurate que el freaking anillo CTR todavia lo tengo, y te gustaron los chocolates que te mande, y las otras cosas, volve a escribirme y me conta mas chismes que para eso te las pintas viejo, bromas, no te la vayas a creer. Fijate que estoy trabajando en el Banco Uno y ando por todos los lugares vendiendo Tarjetas de Credito tengo solo 21 dias pero ya me pagaron mi primera quincena, ahora soy fachento, hasta tarjeta me dieron para retirar mi pago. En la semana Santa espero ir a un paseo que estamos planeando en la capilla a un balneario del pacifico, dicen que es muy bonito aun no conozco pero lo hare el jueves de la semana sangana.
Va pues viejo cuidate y reza mucho a suyapa para que se case con vos. Aaaaa por si acaso queres saber digo yo, yo se que no sos tan curiosos pero por si acaso aun no me caso, talvez muy pronto.

Dear companions, I'm sorry por no haber escrito a sus casas pero tengo una buena razón o excusa: el papo de Elder Barrios a quien le entregé mi baggie cuando dejé la misión, ¡me lo perdió¡ ¡papo¡. Les cuento que trabajo como secretario ejecutivo de STK desde hace un mes, antes de eso fui segundo consejero de mi obispo por un año. My wife worked like president of young women of our ward (Los Ausoles Ward) for 1 year, actualy she works like presidenta de la primaria del barrio. De babies, hace tres meses esperábamos nuestro primero solo vivió eigth weeks in her womb because was a ektopic pregnant and we lost him or her, I will never know, well sí lo sabré, pero hasta el milenio. Bueno tengo que dejarlos porque cierran el negocio, les escribo mañana.

Yes, it has been awhile. It's good to see that most of you are well on your way in the next mission. Things are going well with me. I will be finishing up this year at BYUI and moving on to Utah next fall. I'm hoping to get married this summer, but I just need a girl.(Any prospects? Just send me a picture and a phone number.) Life after the mission has been good. It's amazing how much you think about the mission. It's almost daily in a lot of different ways. I plan to go back and visit, but I don't know when. What's up ya'll! Dang, I found this site and fell apart. So many memories flooded my mind and I just got nostalgic. I miss the mission dearly and my compas. I wish I could do it all over again. Life is crazy for me. I was married in 2001, transferred schools, my wife had surgery, the state legislature screwed me as an out of state student and I just miss the mission. Espero no parecer un intruso, fui misiónero en Honduras, en 1984 - 1985, en aquel entonces solo existía la Misión Honduras Tegucigalpa. Una de mis áreas fue en la Torocagua, trabajé en colonias tales como: pedregalito, Zapote Norte, Tres de mayo, etc. que ahora, tengo entendido que son de la misión Honduras Comayagüela. Amo mucho a la gente de Honduras, espero tener noticias.

Hola todos, como han estado?? esperamos que muy bien y que siempre essten sobre ustedes las bendiciones de la virgencita de suyapa....les agradezco a todos los que han escrito, y disculpas a los que no he respondido, ( que por cierto la mayoria...ooppppsss...)gracias a la shindelus por la tajetita, a clifton por los chismes y preguntas, lattier por las fotos del nino, smyers por la ayuda con la lamentable noticia de lopez y medina por decirme al respecto y la foto de la chichi de la esposa, jejeje....estamos muy bien, finalmente pudimos comprar una casa y ya salimos del gobierno de los suegros y tenemos nuestro propio lugar. Tenemos dos semanas de estar en la casa y es una casa vieja, pero me tiene loco con toda la propiedad y mucho que hacer, pues cindy no se habia sentido con mucha fuerza durante los ultimos dias, asi que dicidio en tomar una pueba de embarazo yyyyy.....adivinen que??.... asi es, estamos embarazados y aunque no sabemos por cuanto tiempo lo ha estado, sabemos que son solo unos dias y fuimos al ginecologo ayer e hicieron un ultrasonido y pudimos ver el huevito que no con esto quiera decir que es un nino, jejeje...pero apenas sepamos mas, les avisaremos. Ayer le estuvimos contando y llamando a algunos y le hable a mamita urbina y aquí viene una de mis grandes razones para escribirles. Hace un mes, graciela, la hija menor, casi murio de una peritonitis, esto significa que la apendice se revento y provoco un envenenamiento del cuerpo y esto fue lo que complico todo; unos dias antes mamita llevo a la nina a una clinica de emergencia a las 2 am y el doctor le dijo que era una infeccion muy fuerte del higado, a los dos dias regreso mamita y le dijo que graciela estaba muy mal y el mismo le dijo que ese tratamiento dura 9 dias, asi que mamita regreso a la casa y a los pocos dias fue que graciela entro al hospital escuela en emergencia y fue operada de inmediato. La doctora le dijo a mami que no sabia que iba a pasar, que no daba muchas esperanzas, pero lo bueno es que graciela se ha estado mejorando y tiene conectada a su herida de operacion una manguera, por la cual esta saliendo el veneno del cuerpo. Me senti muy mal y para mi, esta familia, es mi familia y una de las mas bellas experiencias en honduras para mi vida y la de cindy. Le ofrecimos enviar una ayuda de dinero y aunque ella siempre a sido tan fuerte y sabe como arreglarselas, este ha sido un golpe muy duro para ellos y nosotros estamos dispuestos a enviar una cantidad de dinero y trataremos de hacerlo la proxima semana, pues no se que tengan que pagar y mucho menos si tienen para vivir; yaxquin trabaja, pero no creo que sea suficiente para todo y mamita tiene su trabajo de decoracion de pasteles, pero ha estado con graciela y no ha podido trabajar. Cindy y yo vamos a ayudar con lo que podemos y me gustaria si ustedes pueden ayudarnos a ayudar. Voy a averiguar con western union y/o el presidente de misión Comayagüela, para ver la mejor manera de hacer llegar ese dinero. Haganme saber si pueden ayudar, mamita no sabe que les estoy pidiendo la ayuda, pero entre mas seamos quienes lo hagamos, sera mejor. Pueden decirme por internet, estoy por pasar el numero que hemos tenido y espero que para el proximo martes, lo tenga, es el 602- 323-0724 o mi cell 602- 617-0149 o por e-mail, pueden decirme si esta dentro de sus posibilidades ayudar. What's up everybody, this is Brick. I hope everybody is doing okay. I think most of you have already heard, but just in case you haven't, Elder Lopez Gramajo got hit by a car in April, was in a comma for a long time and recently passed away. I don't know that much about it, just that he was walking by the road when a car lost control and swerved and hit him. I've been thinking a lot about it and I think that it is important that we let his family know what a good missionary and what a good guy he was and how proud they should be of him. What I would like to do is compile a memorial of his mission. I want to try to contact everybody who knew him on the mission and get everybody to write up their favorite memories of him- spiritual experiences, good times, everything- and email them to me, along with any pictures that yall have of him from the mission. Please scan and email pictures, I don't want to have any original copies that I would probably lose. Then I'll compile everything into a book and send it to his family in Quetzaltenango (sp?). If yall could help out I would really appreciate it. Please send everything in Spanish so I don't have to translate and try to identify people and places in any pictures you send. I'll send anybody a copy if you want one. Also, these are the only email addresses I have, please help me contact more people if yall know how to get a hold of anybody else, or you can just forward this to people.

Bonjour à tous...Je m'appelle Nestor et j'été le frère plus âgé du Elder Hyrum Merino. Mon frère Samuel, je crois est la aussi pour son mission. Ce qu'il inquiète à moi est que pas si elle n'est pas puis ceci ou pas il a communiqué avec nous puisque il quitte au Honduras. After la misión I did a year at Utah State, went to Orlando to see my folks and work a summer job, when I met my wife and decided to stick around. She's the absolute bomb, everything I could ever wish for in every way, and as an added bonus she's absolutely the hottest girl I've ever laid eyes on in my life, period (If any don't believe me then I can send a pic of us).
We got married in January, and we're happy as can be. She teaches Primary and I teach elder's quorum in addition to being asst. stake clerk. I'm in school down here, and I've got about a year and a half to go on my engineering degree. I'm also an account specialist with Marketplace Bank, which pays the bills, lets me do school and keeps my wife from having to work. So she stays home & prepares to bear my children...
None yet, but life is very good, the church is true and if your life isn't centered around spiritual things, you're missing the boat!

Acabo de recibir una carta de correo electronico del presidente Ocampo. Dice que ellos van a estar en Utah desde el 31 de Marzo hasta el 7 de Abril, y quieren tener una "pequena reunion" con los ex-misióneros de la misión Comayagüela. Todavia no saben que dia van a tenerla, pero ya sabemos que ES VERDAD ... no es chisme!!! (Les aviso cuando sepa mas en cuanto a este asunto!)

My son, Jeremy Blake has been in the Comayagüela mission since November 1999. I wouldn't mind hearing from anyone who has been there and what it's like. I wish I knew Spanish so I could understand all the other messages, but maybe someday.

Have left several messages to retrieve Elder Gabe Gerrard's suit coat and Easter package to no avail. If it is unretrievable at least let us know. After Elder Gabe got the hole in his stomach patched up he was reassigned to the Arizona Phoenix Spanish Speaking mission. He is into his second area there, has had a number of baptisms but, he misses the Honduras Mission a lot. He wishes that he could have return there. You all are in our prayers and will appreciate a response.
