I am close to graduating from Dixie State College with an Associate of Arts degree. I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but it'll be nice to have. I'm the Elders Quorum Secretary in the college 8th ward, and I'm renting a cheap apartment room right next to the school. I'll be 24 in April of 2006. I auditioned for the Institute show choir and got in last semester. As far as my direction in life, I'm waiting for something to come along that seems worth spending years of my life doing. So far nothing has jumped out at me, so I'll try a few things out and see where that goes. As for marriage, I'm working on being ready for an eternal relationship and eternal responsibilities. Can't rush those things, you know. Of course, if God says to jump in, I will, but I haven't gotten any signals to that effect, and I don't think I've ever been in true love. You could say I've been put in a round room and told to head for the corner where I belong, but I think eventually I'll just have to carve out my own corner. It's frustrating, but I think if I keep trying new things, I'll figure out what I want to be. God's taken good care of me even in my directionless state, so once I actually want something, I think He'll help me get it. |
