25 Mar 1998 - Jakarta Selamat malam, Apa khabar anda sekalian di sini? Kami di Indonesia cukup baik, walaupun masih resesi.The situation is relatively calm. Our mission presidency decided to speak about fast and fast offering to all branches in Jawa Barat district these last two Sundays. I have an assignment to attend and speak at Bogor sacrament meeting last Sunday. The attendance was 97 seven. There were two speakers, the first speaker was about "Spouse Abuse" based on recent Church brochure that has just been translated into Indonesian. It was a great gospel principle. After hearing the sermon, I try to be a good husband. I notice that my wife does the same thing...bagus!! I met with several old members, Brother Nursilih, The Mongans family, Sister Swie, her husband and two daughters, Sister Dumalang, Lisa, Erwin, Nanette; Bro/Sister Setiawan, Maman and Desy Kores. We missed the Siregars family. Bro. Nursilih is probably the oldest member in Bogor. If you still remember him, he has strong testimony, and talk "very" loud. People can hear him talking within 50 meters away. That is probably how he express his love and concern to his fellow members... After the meeting, the Relief Society hold their celebration. After some talks, we had lunch together...the menu consists of: Nasi of course, Urap, tempe bacem, tahu bacem, ikan asin, telor pindang, perkedel. We returned home full of spirit and food!!! Bogor is in the process of building a new chapel. We have the consent of the neighborhood, and now the government approval is being processed. The everage attendance in Bogor is >70 every week. Pres. Agus Kusumarmanto, the branch president has been the president for seven yeras, he is a wonderful man (it is very sure if a person can be a branch president in Bogor for 7 years, he must be a great man, isn't he?)
