Although I was only there for 6 months I still learned a lot. Sent home for medical reasons, I thought that it would be the end of missionary work for me. When I came home I found that my sister was married and my brother was about to be a dad for the first time.
Even though just being out for 6 months, I was welcomed home with open arms by both family and friends. Most importantly by my now wife, Amanda. She waited faithfully for me. We where soon engaged, as I asked for her father blessing just two days after being home. We became engaged on November 10, 2003. We married just over six months later, May 14, 2004; in the Salt Lake Temple. As she already lived in Ogden while she finished school that is where I relocated, also to attend school.
A year to the day that I came home, I was called to serve in the Pioneer Ward, Ogden Stake, as the Ward Mission Leader! My only guess was that the Lord was giving me a way to finish my mission. I work closely with the local missionaries as well as the ward leadership. But most importantly, with the best companion ever, my wife.
I am now working Downtown Salt Lake, at Fidelity Investments. We moved to Taylorville in May. I also just found out that my wife is expecting our first child! Both of our families are very excited as are we. We expect the baby in October-November 2005. |
