Earned my Ph.D. in English, with an emphasis in early American literature. Have taught college-level English courses since 1987 have been with the English faculty at BYU since 1991. My wife and I have five children. She and I have spent a total of three years in Japan (Nagoya Chiba-ken) as visiting professors at two different universities (Nagoya Shoka Daigaku and Josai International University) and our oldest daughter was born in Japan.
