1994 Asahikawa - Postcard shot of Furano2
The area called Furano is in the middle of the island about an hour S.E. of Asahikawa. The area is known for its summer fields of flowers and more particularly for the lavendar harvest. This and the Biei area are, by far, the most beautiful area on the entire island. My chiiki and I were fortunate to visit with the Minamide family on a Buch-approved P-day while we were serving in Suehiro. All our dendo exhaustion, worries, stress, and anxieties seemed to go away that day. These shots are used a lot as images of Hokkaido's best.
