Kitami church 08 Oct 2003
Pickett choro mentions the hole in Makomanai, I finally convinced Beckstrand Dendobucho to move us out of that one and we moved into a very nice place a couple of blocks away. The house mentioned in Kitami was replaced with a new building around 1990-1992(?) The building was fairly new when I was there in '93. And as far a burning aparments, the Kitami aparment also came close to becoming a total loss in '93. Something about a blanket and the heater. I was in Abashiri so I don't know the details. Which the place in Abashiri wasn't exactly a palace either. But the apartment in Takikawa was the best I ever lived in. This has become a novel, but the earthquake reminded me of the refridgerator in Kushiro. We placed one of the fridges on top of the other one for some dumb reason that we rationalized at the time. I hope it was moved before the earthquake or it would have come down. It was unstable without the ground moving.
