| Michael Ricks wrote about the apartment behind the church. I was there in early 1974. Just before I was transferred there, the central heating got a leak in it. One day the zone leaders showed up and all of the missionaries were asleep. It took so much to wake them that they feared the gas was getting to them. The mission president demanded the leak get fixed that day. The snow between the church and the apartment would get to be at least 5 feet tall. Aoki choro and I killed winter one year by chopping up the ice and snow off the sidewalk in front of the church. It was still 3 feet deep and this was in April. |
