Missionary Count to nearly double by September 2013 24 Mar 2013
We've learned that at zone conferences in March, President Rasmussen gave these figures about missionary counts in the Sendai Mission (figures do not include senior missionaries):

Missionaries currently serving:  69
less: returning by September: (29)
add: new incoming by Sept:  90
projected count September:  130

Sister Missionaries In an earlier correspondence, Pres. Rasmussen stated, "we will see 23 new Sister missionaries coming into our mission over the next four transfers with only 9 Sister missionaries returning home."

The new influx of missionaries caused by the lowering of missionary ages is a wonderful blessing but logistically, this will be a daunting task for the mission office; new apartments, furnishings and travel arrangements. New areas will probably need to be opened and there will likely be twice as many missionaries in each existing area. Here on the Alumni Site, we've noticed a surge in 'Currently Serving' registrations as missionaries receive their calls.
