Obituary
29 September 2001
Raymond K. Lovell Jr.

Passed away in his home Thursday, September 27, 2001.

He was the husband of Anne Davis Lovell and the father of six children: Jacob, Elizabeth, Louisa, Lydia, Benjamin, and Mary. He married his wife in the Washington, D.C., Temple in 1977. He was a father that considered his wealth not in possessions but in the happiness of his family.

Ray grew up in New England. He graduated from Cornell University with a degree in engineering. He has been employed by Corning Incorporated in the Telecommunication Products Division since 1986. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served a two-year mission in Japan. He also served as an Elder's Quorum President, Young Men's President, Boy Scout Leader, Seminary teacher, Branch President, and recently as a member of the Stake Presidency.

Dad, we love you. You have always supported us and did all in your power to bring us true joy and happiness. We thank you for the legacy of love, faith, service, and humor. And though you left us early, we know that you will be with us always.

A memorial service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Chatfield Place, Painted Post, at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 1. The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. preceding the service. The family wishes small donations to be made to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Box E, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY, 10021, in Raymond's name in lieu of flowers.
