Hello fellow alums: I wanted to let alumni from our mission know about an opportunity this summer in Seoul which can be done in conjunction with the reunion activities. I plan to participate in a 6-week program called Business Korean at KyungHee University in Seoul. It is actually a UCLA Travel Study course. Here is the link. http://www.summer.ucla.edu/travel/CIBER-Korea/overview.htm It is a great opportunity to learn the business language of Korea, the economics and business culture of Korea, and at the same time enjoy doing company visits. The course also has built-in time for sightseeing. The professor has let me know that she would be fine with me (or any other participant) missing class during the week of the reunion too (July 25th - August 1st). So check out the website and consider applying for the program. Maybe you can negotiate an educational leave of absence with your work as I have. The deadline for application is May 10th, but it might be extended. You can contact me or the UCLA Travel Study office with any questions (see the link for details). Michael Robinson |
