| I never served in Kunsan, and only visited the place three times, but it sticks out in my memory because of the first time I ever went there in October of 1987. I was with Steve Baldwin at the time. He had a dental appointment that morning at the Air Force Base and I got to tag along. We ran into a member who worked on base there as an airplane mechanic and he let us sit in the cockpit of one of the fighter jets. Afterwards, on our way home, we stopped in town to do a little shopping. I bought a blanket that day for about ten bucks that I still have today. My kids use it every Friday night when they have their slumber parties in the living room. | |
