Humble as oxen 20 Dec 2002
In jung-up, every other week we would go out and help an old farmer, Brother An. He was an awesome Grandpa and never missed a Sunday. One week, Polis, Nuzman, Hammer and I went out there to help him get his field ready for rice. He needed to plow it. The only problem we could see or not see was the ox...or lack of one. He said that three of us could pull the plow and one of us could drive it. Myself being from Huntington Beach apparently had the most farm experience so I was elected to drive it. (did you know you have to control the depth as well as right and left?) (me neither) We plowed what seemed like 100 acres all day. We were so tired and frustrated by the time I figured out how to work the plow, I thought we were going to kill eachother. At about 5 or 6 at night, we rode our bikes the 4-5 miles back home and decided that the spirit was long gone and the best way to get it back was to go to sleep. We slept like babies!
