I'm a BYU-I student studying chemistry and minoring in Russian. I recently started volunteering at Journey's which is a "developmental disabilities agency." It's actually really fun. Their joy (and every other emotion they choose to express) is so sincere; it always lifts you up. I'm also 1st counselor in the elders' quarm in my student ward, that's also fun. I get to know all the members in the quarm quite well. I miss the members and people of Latvija quite a lot, I really loved them, but I love what I have now as well. I still pray and study scriptures in Latvian and I hope I can go back there someday (which may actually be during the Summer of 2013 if I can get the funding. Pity I can't go this year for that big reunion that was planned) well, I know the gospel is true, I knew it before the mission, but now I know it better. Jesus is the true mission president of all of us and we can always do his work, and I plan to serve. :) Dievs svēti latviju! |
