Mira and Buyna from Darkhan are donating some artwork to give to anyone who donates 25$ or more to help UlziiSaikhan, who served her Mission in Las Vegas, to buy medicine. She recently contracted Tuberculosis and can't pay for the medicine. The doctors will treat her for free but I guess you have to pay for your own meds in Darkhan. Please let anyone else who might be interested in donating. We need to send the donations ASAP, by Wednesday the 19th would be great so she can recieve her treatment... it has already been delayed a week.
Also I am trying to help Mira and Buyna sell some of their artwork here in the US. They are amazing artists and have been featured in the Church News, 4/2004 edition and in the Mongolian Liahona 6 or 7?/2004. I have some artwork they sent me and am trying to find places to sell it or people to sell it to. (some of the art they are donating for Ulzii). If you are interested or know of any stores or collectors who might be please let me know. Bayrlalaa! |

Hey, everyone! My name is Roma and I am from Russia St. Petersburg Mission. There were missionaries from Mongolia and they served in my branch-Petrozavodsk. They are: sister Miigaa, elder Sergelen and elder Buyantogtog (I hope I wrote the names right). They are so cool and if you know them say hi from Roma and I want to keep in touch with them. Thank you a lot. |

Hi everybody. I just wanted to give an update and stay in touch with those I served with. We're still living in France and I quit work to take care of my baby girl but unfortunately she's been in the hospital for three months, and hasn't come home since the delivery. She had two operations and is doing well and I hope next week she'll be home. Life is good here in France. I went hiking yesterday in the Alpes and it was absolutely marvelous with the beautiful array of fall coulours. My husband just started on line classes and so we are now plunged once again into the joyful world of being "students." It'll be a five year degree so we have some time ahead of us but it's worth it. Well, I would LOVE to hear from anyone I served with. Love Sister Otis |

Hi to everyone from the 1998-1999 era. I hope everyone is doing well. My husband and I just got back from a trip to Europe. We stopped in Germany and visited with Uli Broddman and her family. She is doing great. She and her husband have two beautiful kids, a two year old son named Joshua, and a newborn named Lynn. She doesn't have email, but if anyone would like to contact her, email me and I'll send you her information. As far as I go, we just moved into a house in Downtown Salt Lake, and we are adopting a baby who is due in February. We are excited about that. It is great to read everyone's updates. I hope you are all doing well. Bayartai.

Hey, I ran into a Sister serving at the Visitor Center at the Mesa Arizona Temple who used to serve with Rosa from the Old Darkhan Branch when Rosa was serving here in Arizona. Anyways she's lost contact with Rosa and wants to get her address so I told her I'd see what I could do. If any of you have any way of contacting Rosa give me a call at 480-707-3041 or tsagaanbaavgai@hotmail.com Bayarlalaa! |

I'm posting a message in the guestbook, because I can't remember what my alumni username and passwords are. Oops. I was told that Sarantyioa from byanzurxh, who served in the Mongolia mission from 1998-99 is living in California, if anyone has contact information for her, please forward it to me. I would love to get in touch with her.
I really enjoy reading everyone's updates, as for me, my husband and I are living and working in SLC, and have a trip to Europe planned for September! How fun. I hope all of you have a great day. |

Our son is currently in the MTC and will leave for Mongolia in September. He mentioned in his last letter that they are in need of two Mongolian MTC teachers. If anyone is living near Provo, please apply at the Provo MTC. Our missionaries need you!!! |

My wife and I were also planning to travel by train to save on travel expenses. However, we couldn't seem to find a way to book tickets or find contact information. I got the general idea from my mother-in-law that the ticket buying is done there in person, but I may be totally wrong.
We decided to spend the extra money on plane tickets instead of traveling for 72 hours both ways with an 18 month old.
Hotel rooms should be a lot easier to work on.. |
|
Is anyone traveling to Mongolia in July by train from Beijing to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia? Would any of you know how to reserve train tickets and hotels to stay? I'm finding a little hassle to get information about traveling to Mongolia by train.
My husband and I planning a trip to Mongolia for Naadam, and we are not sure how to reserve train tickets and etc.
If you know anything about it, please let us know and your info will be appreciated.

We found a GREAT book written by John and Nancy Hopkins, a returned missionary couple called "Mongolia: The Circle in the Clouds." It can be ordered at www.walkingthelinebooks.com, or through Deseret Book. The website also has great pictures of their mission and the people. I also have a how-to packing list from a mom of a returned Mongolian missionary. We look forward to seeing the new missionaries at the MTC on June 30th! |
