Sister Chandler passed away in August 2002 after a struggle with cancer.
The following was listed in the Church News when President Chandler was called:

Kay Chandler, 61, Clearfield 11th Ward, Clearfield Utah Stake, bishop's counselor, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, stake Young Men president, bishop and counselor, Scout leader, and missionary in the Central Atlantic States Mission. Economic development director for Clearfield City. Received bachelor's degree in marketing and master's degree in public administration from BYU. Born in Rigby, Idaho, to Arthur Reuel and Margaret Foster Chandler. Married Phyllis Orme, six children. She is music chairman and chorister, former stake Young Women president, ward Primary and Young Women president, Relief Society president's counselor and spiritual living teacher, Primary inservice leader, and Laurel leader. Attended BYU. Born in Pocatello, Idaho, to John A. and Florence Alice West Orme. |
