I'm still at good old BYU-Idaho, studying math education and health education. Life is super busy, but I'm still having fun. I decided to Vermont it this summer. I called up Jerry and Miriam Kill in the South Royalton, Ward and invited myself to stay with them and learn to be a dairy farmer. It was so cool. I know all kinds of things that I never knew there was to know. I milks cows and shoveled manure, and fed baby goats. I even helped birth a calf, and showed a cow at the fair (both big firsts for me - a girl who grew up in Suburbia). The funnest thing is there is a little heifer running around the green hills of Vermont with my name. I know what it is like to get really dirty, smell really bad, and have a ton of fun doing it. But, alas, real life sets in and at some point I have to put play on hold and do work that earns money and learn things that I can get a degree for. |
