It has been a tremendous honor for me to be part of this great community of return missionaries from Peru- Arequipa. As a missionary, I have been truly blessed through the wonderful times and the hard ones as well. I was 18 years old when I left on a mission. (“A young kid who was going to convert the planet”). I did not accomplish my goal of converting the whole region of Southern Peru, but in the process I became fully converted to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. It's been almost 24 years since I preached the gospel in the dusty streets of my many assignments and at times it seems like yesterday. I have a wonderful wife and three beautiful kids that keep me busy. I work as a Career Counselor and Student Development Professor at BYU. I am the International Advising Coordinator for the University. I served as a High Counselor for a BYU Stake, Bishopric Counselor many times, Ward Mission Leader, Elder's Quorum President, Sunday School Teacher (my favorite). I love good books and good cuisine. I am a cougar devoted fan and I love the Utah Jazz as well. Both teams are not doing that hot lately. I have traveled all over the world but there is nothing like home for me; and home is little Orem, Utah. I wouldn't change it for the world-- maybe Cajamarca in Peru. I still eat ceviche, papa a la huancaina, aji de gallina, and anticuchos once in a while. If you come to Utah, I'll take you to lunch, my treat! Drop me a note and let me know about you. Take care. |
