My son Joseph Patten will be serving in the Peru Lima East Mission, after 3 weeks in the Provo MTC starting Jan 17, 2007.
We have 5 children, (3 sons, 2 daughters.) Joseph is the third to serve, after his older brothers both served Spanish-speaking missions in the states. (Dad served in Colombia-Venequela) We are thrilled, but I am anxious at the same time--mainly about the water, and the uncertain conditions.
It is indeed a grand opportunity for service, requiring a tremendous leap of faith. |
