As part of a larger book project on gender and mission experiences, we are currently researching a paper on missionary stereotyping to be presented at a BYU Symposium in March, 2004. We are asking anyone who served a mission (as a single, not as a couple) to please help this project along by filling out an on-line survey at
http://www.littlelit.com/survey.html
We are looking for both male and female RMs of ALL ages. The survey has 23 questions, most of which are multiple choice. In order for responses to be useful for the symposium paper we need them submitted by JANUARY 31st, 2004. So please make this a priority and pass it along to other RMs as quickly as possible.
Many thanks for sharing your time and experiences with us!

Hey All,
President Gaviola will be here for the April Conference, I was wondering if anyone was interested in a reunion. I will be having my baby about 5 days before conference, so I would not really be able to have a huge part in planning it. If anyone is interested in teaming up, Please let me know.
My email is: steve@thehiatts.com
Betts, Congrats on your engagement. Hernandez, I cant believe I missed your reception, Sorry man, I realized it the following week. Anyway, congratulations on the baby!
Take Care,
Hiatt.

Dearest person who is worried about the safeness of the mission....The phils is just as safe as the next you can die by a bullet, be run over by a car, beat to death but in reality no matter where you are, if its time its time! We have taught NPA to hitmen to you name it scum but when it comes to safety youll never know till hits you. The misssionaries have the best protection ever as long as they are obediant. The minute they subject themselves and let there guard down they are then vulnerable.
Terrorism is an awareness to reality and reality bites. Its always been there its just more publised. Missionaries have earnt the respect of the people by previous missionaries before them. There will always be opposition. To be chosen to go to the phils is an honor cause only the STRONG survive and ill vouch for that. The mainland 1st world missionaries i feel have it easy. The phils either makes you or breaks you. You either become a man or woman or you remain a mouse and a spouse. The only thing to worry about is the BAKLAs and TOMBOYS but besides that the rest is a walk in the park. Go to Mindanow and then theres problems. NO disrespect to Pres Miole and fambam ihope all is well....Master BATES the III kept it real you stud muffin. And the rest of the buddahs peace. Mag ingat sa labas!

So am placing this message in hopes that it will be seen by any who are interested. All friends and companions are invited.
A reception will be held at the following address on the 23rd of December:
Brown Stone Ward House

Don't listen to any of them. Well, actually, he should be safe except for the punks that he will probably be serving with. If they are anything like the morons I served with, his safety and sanity will be tested at all times, of course, I was companions with Plaza and Marshall. Anyway, Bates, what's up buddy, how's all my other boys doing? Guess what else guys? My boys can swim!!!! My wife is pregnant and expecting in June of next year. Another Hernandez to run the earth. Sweeet. Alright everyone, I'll talk atcha later. J
