I married Kimie (who waited for me!) less than a year after returning, and continued studying Biochemistry at the University of California, San Diego. After obtaining a bachelor's of science, I spent a year at the Salk Institute Infectious Diseases Laboratory doing HIV research. Kimie and I have been in Honolulu, Hawaii for the past year where I am working at the Queen's Medical Center - Center for the Study of Neurological Disease doing stroke research. Kimie is finishing up her degree at BYU-Hawaii in English. I am currently the ward mission leader in the Manoa Ward, Honolulu Stake (it seems I've never gotten far from missionary work since I left my mission) and we are very happy here. I have just begun medical school at the University of Hawaii - John A. Burns School of Medicine, and will be here for some time. |
