Following their SDRCM experience, they returned home to Provo, Utah where President Bastian taught institute at Utah Valley State College and attended BYU and earned a doctorate degree in curriculum and instructional science. CES transferred them back to the Boise Institute where Brother Bastian was appointed institute director and was called as president the Boise East Stake.
Five of their seven children have married and graduated from college. Two have graduated from college and are looking for someone to spend eternity with. Four of the seven have served full-time missions.(Peru, Argentine, Portugal and Chile)
Sister Bastian is currently a counselor in the ward relief society presidency and much younger and better looking than President Bastian. President Bastian continues to on a part-time basis. They are in good health, love life and enjoy retirement.
