He graduated from BYU in Business Management then received an MBA from the University of Utah. He has lived in Salem, Oregon for the past 25 years. He married Debbie Moon (who waited for him on his mission) and they have five children: Jason, Christopher, Nicholas, Joshua, and Brianna. He is currently the Information Services Administrator for Salem Electric Utility.
